Modutec successfully completes turnkey accommodation refurbishment of the Well-Safe Guardian living quarters. The project commenced at Nigg, UK, September 2019 and was finalised in February 2020.
The Well-Safe Guardian is being converted into a bespoke plug and abandonment unit and is Well-Safe Solutions first asset and includes the installation of a dive system and the capability to deploy a SIL (subsea intervention lubricator). This flagship semi-submersible rig is destined for operations in the North Sea.
Project management, engineering, procurement and construction of the living quarters revamping included the upgrade of 50 cabins, and living spaces on the rig including mess hall, galley, locker room and offices, conference rooms, gym, lounges, corridors and staircases which consisted of the following work packages:
Deconstruct – Existing living quarters
Architectural Solutions – insulation, panels, flooring, ceilings, full wet rooms, A60 and B15 doors, windows and hatches
Furniture – Supply and manufacture of furniture for living quarters rooms, including bunk beds, desks, chairs, sofas and TVs, galley equipment, lockers & soft furnishings including curtains and blinds.
HVAC Solutions – HVAC duct cleaning.
Electrical & Instrumentation Solutions – Power distribution, lighting systems, PA/GA, fire & gas and data communications.
Piping and Plumbing Solutions – Hot/cold, drainage pipework and wet rooms
